Nightmare City

Pure '70's/'80's Italian cheese!!! Funky dub, silly music, over-acting? Straight from the 70's. Tits! Straight from the 80's. If a woman is murdered on camera, you can be damn sure her boobs will somehow manage to explode out of her shirt.

Radiation and infection caused people to become crazed, regenerating, killer pseudo vampires! The only way to kill them? Headshot! They go around killing just about everyone and everything, using guns, knives, clubs, axes, pretty much everything you can think of, including a giant candle!

The thing about the movie is that you don't really have a core group of characters to care about, people are introduced and killed off in minutes. The environment is so open and the action so fast paced that it comes across more as an action movie then a horror movie. There is no build up to kills, the mutants burst in and kill everything in the room. That said, there is a lot of action, but its all quick, no lingering on the death, no feeling the pain.

The only people that we see for the whole movie is a reporter and his ladyfriend. But we don't even get to spend enough time with them to really care about them, they have no personality. It's hard to get into because you don't feel for anyone.

The movie is entertaining and all, but in the end, its not really scary or good. Oh, and the whole thing is a dream. Yep, a dream. Thanks for wasting my time Nightmare City. I wish you were City of the Living Dead.
