Antichrist

If you ever wanted to see a woman slowly lose it, eventually drag her husband to hell, and do unspeakable things to her clitoris, then watch Antichrist. Also if you don't like to much dialog, want to see a fox eating its own guts, and get really confused about whats going on, whats real, whats not, and in typical art house fashion, leave the movie going "What???" Then Antichrist is for you. If none of this interests you, see it anyway 'cause Antichrist was pretty good.

The Bunny Game

Oh Bunny... poor poor Bunny. She's our hopeless little prostitute who after a long hard day of coke, booze, and tricks has the horrible misfortune of being abducted by Hog. We watch as Johns beat her, rape her, steal her stuff. We see the regret and self loathing in her eyes at the life she has. She breaks down, gets back up, and does it all over again. This is it, this is all she has. Or it was until she found herself in the truck of Hog. Days of hell are ahead of her as Hog beats and tortures her. Will she survive the bunny game?

Phenomena

A pseudo supernatural giallo by the master himself, Dario Argento? Sign me up! For anyone else, a killer is on the loose in the Swiss country side. Jennifer is a young girl going to a private school out in the country. She also happens to have a psychic link with insects. As girls from her school begin being abducted and murdered, Jennifer has to piece together the things she saw while sleep walking and use her link with the insects to find the killer and get revenge.

The Innkeepers

Going from the spastic, scatterbrained haunting of Grave Encounters to the very focused, snails paced haunting of The Innkeepers is pretty jarring but very welcome.

Yellow Brick Road

A group heads to Friar, New Hampshire to find and walk the Yellow Brick Road trail, a trail that in 1940 the entire population of Friar walked down, never to be seen again. Some bodies were found, frozen or murdered, but the rest were gone without a trace. Our group sets out to find out what happened all those years ago.

Shot partially in a found footage/documentary style, we are introduced to each member of the group through a psych evaluation by the groups doctor. They meet before heading to Friar and each go over their job in the group, we have a photographer/writer and his wife, the doctor, the guide/survival expert, the brother and sister map charting pair, and the medic girl. After their meeting, they head out.

The Stendhal Syndrome

The Stendhal Syndrome, what is it? Giallo? Crime Drama? Rape-revenge? Psychological thriller? I can't even begin to describe it. One thing I know for sure, it was to long. They could have cut out 45 minutes of that movie and it would have made more sense and been more entertaining.

Towards the begining of the movie, we are intoduced to Anna, our amnesiac. She makes her way into a museum and roams around. As she traverses from room to room, she hears murmurs and whispers from the paintings. Horses hooves clopping against the ground. Drummers tapping on snares. And as she reaches beach scene painting she falls in. Drowning, she is saved by a manfish breathing life back into her lungs. She wakes, lip bloody on the museum floor. A man asks if shes ok. She flees in fright and embarassment.
